If theres one thing I use in excess... its luminizer and highlighter. Even though it may not seem like it, using the right type of luminizer is a big step in your makeup regime. First-theres the decision between cream, powder, or liquid. I have found that depending on which brand you use, cream produces a more dewy look, powder gives off more of a glowing look, and liquid tends to be more lightweight and subdued. The Hourglass Ambient Lightening Powder is a very natural looking luminizer. It is buildable and subtle, and the silky texture stands out from others of its kind. The Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder Compact is one of my personal favorites. I can only describe this product by its name, "baked." The look it produces produces a glowy sheen that lights up your entire face. Its almost impossible to apply too much of this product- it always produces a natural, youthful looking glow. Moving on to cream luminizers... so I have recently became obsessed with RMS Beauty. Their products are all natural, and they have the BEST colors. The Living Luminizer is the first product of theirs that I've tried. It gives the illusion of light reflecting off the high-points of your face to produce a glowing and super natural effect #obsessed. I'm sure a few of you have tried the mini samples of the Benefit Watt's Up! from Sephora. But this stuff is actually pretty great for a more intense highlighting look. I think this product is great for going out for a night out because it is heavier than other luminizers. However, it is vital that you blend well! It's easy to swipe it on your cheekbone and have a line of shimmer... and that doesn't look very natural. Liquid is the third form of luminizer I have tried. Nars has a nice selection in my opinion. Their Illuminators are subtle and lightweight, making them very versitile. I have tried the Orgasm and Laguna shades, but I have also heard the Hot Sand shade is worth trying (side note: you can also blend liquid luminizers in with your foundation to create an all-over brightening look!). Sooo I guess the point of this post is to persuade you to add some luminizer to your beauty regime... because who wouldn't want a youthful looking glow 24/7, am i right?!
